Accomplishments

  • Business 380 Excellence Award (2017)

  • Established as a 501c3 non-profit organization

  • Initiated a Student Discount Card for Coe and Mount Mercy students for restaurants and retail businesses

  • Began redevelopment and revitalization with signs, more efficient clean-up and beautification

  • Initiated the opening of the Cedar Rapids Police Substation

  • Installment of district-wide bicycle racks

  • Installed trash receptacles along First Avenue

  • 50% reduction in crime over the past 6 years

Ongoing Projects

  • College District Area Action Plan with City of Cedar Rapids

  • Facilitate development projects within the district

  • Neighborhood Clean-Up (Fall and Spring)

  • Promote safety and security efforts

  • Additional trees in the area

  • Increase membership

2021 District Goals

  •  Leverage digital platforms to help promote businesses in the District

  •  Continue planning for promotional District signage along the CeMar trail

  • All membership fees for 2021 have been waived!

  • Non-profit organization, established February 2007

  • Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

  • Monthly meetings are held to discuss and resolve issues

  • Regularly meets with Cedar Rapids Police to discuss safety and concerns

  • Contributions are used for District-wide programming and promotion of District businesses and partners
